News report

My habit of carrying random Lego figures around comes in very handy when you need a quick blip after being somewhat distracted much of the day. I made an unexpected trip to Crosshouse Hospital today, after my sister made her own unexpected quick trip up from Arran to the Ayrshire Maternity Unit there - it only takes 8 minutes by helicopter apparently. She was very disappointed that she couldn't see out on her first ever helicopter trip! She is thankfully still playing host to a rather impatient baby, which made an unsuccessful attempt at arriving 3 months early. We're hoping it will stay put for the rest of it's time, but she's on antibiotics and steroids, with very badly timed injections (4am anyone???), and will be spending an as yet indeterminate period at Crosshouse, as it's a bit of a wait and see situation, so you can expect quite a few Ayrshire blips over the next wee while. This wee reporter is doing a piece to camera about the NHS, talking about the amazing service that we have in this country, something I don't think we appreciate enough (though today that doesn't include NHS 24, which, while great 18 months ago when Mum had a problem with her foot, was extremely unhelpful in this case, after demanding the same info 3 times, they still managed to pass on incorrect info to the paramedics - there is a big difference between being 26 weeks pregnant and 36 weeks pregnant and the actions the medical staff would be likely to plan in each case).
