A Stroll in The Snow

Like most of the country we had more snow overnight and some showers today but yet again we managed to get out for a decent walk of a couple of hours. We headed into the hills, which sounds more dramatic than it is as they start about a mile from the house, walking through pretty deep snow by the pine forest.

The highlight was coming across several groups of Red Deer, maybe around 70 or so, mostly hinds and one or two stags. We got within a hundred meters or so before they scarpered away back into the hills

The Prince of Dogs was in his element of course, chasing a few Roe deer and rabbits but as usual coming back with empty jaws and occasionally disappearing beneath the snow.

So it's back to cosy corner for tea and cake before settling down in front of the fire.
