Old

This wall is nearly 2,000 years old. It's part of the boundary wall around Calleva Atrebatum, near Silchester, which from the first to fourth centuries AD was a thriving Roman Town covering 100 acres and with a population of up to 10,000 people. Archaeology is an ongoing process here and the University of Reading work on the site every July and August.

We had a long walk around this area today and I particularly liked this very old looking yew tree growing around and over a section of the Roman wall.
