Ferry cross the Mersey

As a surprise for his birthday I took Mr M to Liverpool for the weekend. I haven't been to Liverpool since the 1980's (my ex went to Liverpool Uni) so it was a bit of a step back in time for me. I kept expecting to hear Frankie Goes to Hollywood in every pub and club!

We took the train from Euston but unfortunately Arsenal were playing Liverpool and the train was full of Arsenal supporters!

I'm afraid we were unashamedly touristy. We did the Mersey Ferry, took a bus tour around the city, visited the Museum of Liverpool and the Protestant Cathedral, did the Beatles Experience and had a drink and a dance in the Cavern Club.

Mr M was suitable pleased with my choice of weekend destination.
