Walking on history

This morning I did gardening to make sure of getting a few jobs done while the sun was shining.

This afternoon I went for a walk on Oswestry Iron Age Hillfort. It's said to be one of the best in Britain and covers 40 acres. From the top there are great views all around the area.
The blip shows some of the defence ditches that go all around the hillfort, there are lots of wild flowers there and it was lovely to hear skylarks singing ( all too rare these days!) I only saw about six people while I was there, not many considering that it is free and that today is a Bank Holiday.
