BMX

Very early start this morning for a trip up to Preston and a day racing in the Nationals. Phil was on his cruiser, racing a different bunch of people than what he's used to and not on his best form so sadly didn't make the finals. Dylan, on the other hand, surprised us all by showing us he could ride the BMX we bought him for Christmas. We both thought it would still be a bit big for him as he's only 3 but a bit of tweaking to the seat, a push from a much more confident parent than me and off he went! (Thanks Phil!)

He was so pleased with himself and had lots of goes on the fields in the supporting compound. The brakes don't really work properly (far too stiff for him) so the dismounts were rather ungraceful but he's got the pedalling action and balance sorted. We are very proud :-)

Anyway, I figured there will be plenty more pictures of Dylan on his bike in years to come so the photo I chose from today is of Lily May and her friend Nell. They were "digging for treasure" in the mud and painting each others faces with dirt. Was really good to see everyone again, can't believe we've not been to a race since September!
