Japanese Maple

This is a little maple tree that I thought I had lost after a very harsh winter a couple of years ago, but it has proved hardier than expected and is growing well again. It doesn't like too much weather - sun, wind or rain - so it tends to stay in the covered porch area and get moved out on the odd occasion.

It's just as well it was sheltered today, as the torrential rain that has been affecting much of the country finally came our way and everything else in the garden has been battered! I was driving to Perth and got caught in it and the roads were flooded within minutes. However, it had all dried up by the time I drove home a couple of hours later!

I'd gone to collect an online order for some holiday clothes which will be needed soon, but it was a most frustrating experience. Five of the eight items didn't fit properly (four were too big and one too small) and only three did , yet they were all supposed to be the same size! Why is there so much variation in sizes from the same store?
