Out Again

Wee BabyCyclops had a wee bit of difficulty with breathing a few hours after he was born - his slightly immature lungs were making it a bit tiring (he was just over 6 weeks premature). He was put on a ventilator for a few hours, mostly so they could put some surfactant into his lungs to help prepare them for life on the outside. Since then he's been getting better each day - now he doesn't need any oxygen in the incubator, and barely needs any when he's out for cuddles (which is slightly harder work it seems). His breathing rate is starting to come down towards normal too.

It's tough outside the womb - but he's doing great.

Oh, and today he was back in a hat for a bit!
