Day 1 - Over the Sea.....

........to Barra.
An early start for Oban and the 1pm ferry to Castlebay in Barra, a 7 hour ferry ride.

The last time I did an expedition to the Outer Hebrides I was a student, and an overnight journey with the mail boat in a rough sea made me gloriously sea sick.
I'm hoping that the sea is calmer this time.

Ever the unlikely optimist, I have packed a bag with my IPad and chargers in the happy event of finding an Internet connection amongst the machair and beaches.
