The Falkirk Kelpies

These sculptures are incredible, fantastic, amazing. I've never seen anything like them before. This is Art AND Engineering.
These steel horses stand 30m (c.100ft) high and weigh 300 tonnes each.
They are a monument to the importance of horses in the past that were so vital to the development of Scotland (and just about everywhere else).
They were created by Andy Scott - the guy who did the sculptures at the Trinity Centre in Leeds.
If you visit and book a tour (we didn't), you can go inside them!
I think they improve by being viewed 'Large'.
More information here. The time lapse video of their construction is worth watching.
