Walking Iris Plant

One of the plants I picked up this past weekend was a Walking Iris plant. It is a perennial that has the appearance of a combination of a iris and orchid. The flowers only last one day and this was the first flower of many to come on the plant. It is called a walking iris because it bends to the ground and takes root then the new plantlet repeats the process giving the illusion of walking or moving about as it spreads. Will have to bring it in over the winter as our gardening zone is too cool for it to over winter outside. A really cool and lovely plant and one I had never seen before!
