Welcome to Gloucester

Walking past the bus station in Gloucester today I noticed the sign about Kingsholm (Rugby Stadium in Gloucester) being one of the sites that will be used for the Rugby world cup in 2015.

It is a welcoming city with lots of sightseeing available and the port is the most inland of it's kind in Britain being tidal as far as Gloucester from St Georges Channel and Bristol Channel. It was not a town taken over by the Romans, it was created by the Romans as a garrison and supply point for the Cotswolds where other towns were established. The Romans called it Glevum so you see 'Glevum Heating', Glevum this that and the other used in firms of all kinds.
