Wild but lovely

I know: these purple rhododendrons grow wild here; they're virtually impossible to eradicate; they cover the hillsides with dense growth. But for a few weeks at this time of year they are absolutely lovely, and this bit of hill above Puck's Glen, where the relatively recent felling of trees has given the plants light and air and space, was like a garden in the afternoon sun.
