Another Load of Coal

Another load heads to be converted into carbon dioxide. I guess this train is carrying around 5000 tonne which will become 3 times that weight in gas.

The other day I read a report which was produced by the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) back in 2009. It stated that in Australia, coal fired power stations were the cheapest method of producing electricity providing only the costs that the producer pays for are taken into account. If the costs that the power producer doesn't pay for, like impact on health and the environment, are taken into account then power stations using brown coal are the most expensive method of power production. To calculate this external cost it was assumed that a year of someone's life was worth around $130, 000 back then For more details..
