South Coast Scribblings

Purple comes before a fall...

I found these little beauties outside the library. They're quite pretty I think.

It's gone very sunny now after a grey and heavy morning. I had to go and rescue son Paul today from near the beach - he moved to the edge of a badly maintained access road to the beach car park to allow a car to go by and lost his footing in a very muddy area and landed straight in a puddle! He was caked in mud and had to sit on towels in the car. His bag was ruined (but was needing replacing anyway) and also his new lens was covered in water and his camera a bit muddy. He had been to a meeting with a client about a web-site that he's designed for them, and because he was putting papers etc into his bag, he had put his camera on the other shoulder from usual. He fell onto his bag rather than the camera therefore. He said he would probably have hurt himself a lot more if he'd landed on that - not to mention breaking the camera. So, thankfully he just has some grazes and is fine. It took about half-an-hour to clean everything up - it was just before lunch, so it was a good thing I just had pizza to cook! I had never seen such thick mud and grit on a pair of jeans before!
