Stork's nest

As they have turned the whole of the harbourside of La Rochelle into a giant funfair for the long bank holiday weekend (Ascension) we decided to get in the car for a trip south.

We had a pretty good day, we stopped and photographed some of the storks that nest along the giant pylons (this nest is in an platform on the marshes and had 3 chicks), then we headed on to the Gironde Estuary, where we found and tasted real french sturgeon caviar (never had real caviar before!), and ended up in a bar overlooking a pretty port at Meschers. We finished the day in a beach café at Chatelaillon le plage about 10 minutes south of La Rochelle.

Hope you like the photo!
