Lest we forget

We've got ourselves a war memorial. Well, the next village along. They've decided to honour the sixteen local men who didn't come home, a hundred years after the Great War started. Original parish minutes record that they didn't erect a memorial in 1919 because the parish was deemed too poor. Thanks to donations of land and materials we can now remember why we shouldn't ever forget.

I really hope that those who thought UKIP was a sensible vote take a moment to think about the freedoms and community that those men died fighting for.
