"Allium giganteum."

We wandered around town briefly for a visit to bank & post office, then did a bit of Blip searching. We found this B-I-G bulbous flower, which is (almost) my favourite colour. (Magenta is my actual favourite, but that's very close to the colour of this flower.) Mrs Brian1943 thought it was called Allium, and she looked it up on line when we got home and found that indeed that is what it's called. So I've learnt something today.
