In full swing!

Tonight it's Pitfour Carnival, an established event in the village social calendar for nearly 30 years. It's a fundraiser for Pitfour Primary where Lola is at nursery and where she will enter P1 in August. All the local primary schools take part in five-a-side football and netball competitions, while their parents spend money on tombolas, raffles, burgers and ice-cream. Tonight it was hoaching as the weather was superb, probably for the second time in 30 years! Hubby and I tried our luck on the bottle stall and won nothing, then purchased some home baking, and some plants and bumped into a whole lot of people we hadn't seen for years. Our very first carnival was in 1990 on an evening like this where he cooked 300+ burgers and I sold twice that number of ice-creams. Unfortunately it's difficult for parents to take those roles on these days because of red tape re health and safety. Still despite the bureaucracy it's good to see the event thriving, and enjoy the community spirit it generates.

Enjoy your weekend fellow blippers!
