Áras Kate

Casca, one of our teachers, handing out the small blackboards at our pre school in Salisbury Line, Mzuzu, Northern Malawi.
We have 250 little ones and a staff of eight, to care for and feed them.
They get one meal (a porridge of maize, soya, groundnuts, honey and sugar)each day, probably the only food for many.
65 have just graduated to primary schooland have been replaced immediately, but all the parents wanted them to stay.
The children are amazingly bright for such a deprived place and the staff of local people are excellent, even though many have little formal education themselves.
Blip 600 today!! Getting older.
