Syrian refugee woman

This woman's photo came from a blog on refugee camps and what the refugees grabbed to bring with them in their rush to save their families and themselves from the horrors of the "raining bullets." I used Derwent watercolor pencils and a touch of inkpen. The original photo is close to this but the woman had more confidence and power than I think I achieved here. I really enjoyed my time with her.
This photo was taken under fluorescent lighting that caused the warm tones, which I decided to keep.
