The Big House

We call it The Big House cos it's much bigger than all the others on our wee dead end road.

We were once two rows, five a side, of farm cottages. After the war they were all rebuilt. Except for two. Olivia de Havilland had two cottages taken out to make room for her Big House.

The Big House is now under new ownership and under going a serious bit of refurbishment. Gone is the fake stone cladding of yesteryear. Gone are the cinder block foundations.

It's going to get bigger!

The Kipper and Blue (next door) are the only two cottages left.

Developers often knock on our doors. We have a pact. It's "No".
