Manhattanhenge

... occurs when the sunset perfectly aligns with the Manhattan grid system, and occurs only twice a year in May and July.

Apparently 42nd st, Bryant Park, is one of the best places to catch the view so we headed up after work. It poured with rain just before and the sky was full of clouds but thankfully it all cleared just in time.

One of the best things was all the people trying to take photos. Every time the traffic stopped crowds would surge into the middle of the road and wait until a furious taxi driver was only feet away before moving again.

These are the times I wish I had something more substantial than my iphone to take photos with.

Following this we headed to a Mountbatten mixer. Because all my friends are on the IMC (intern management committee/geek club) we arrived super early and it took a while before people started to arrive. But it was a fun night once they did.
