The Lift

Down off the the Trent and Mersey and on to the Weaver. That's a 50ft drop though, locks? no, the Anderton Boat Lift. Amazing in it's time, 1875, taking 3.5 minutes to do the trip. Now it's a more sedate 7.5 minutes.

The operators and volunteers are fantastic and knowledgeable.
