Lindisfarne salt marsh

Today was the British Orienteering Relay Championships at Cragg Estate and Chesterhope Common. What a contrast to Saturday, easy underfoot and quick running. Unusually for orienteering, we were able to wear shorts as there was no vegetation to scratch us. I enjoyed my run, but being on third leg had the worst of the mud in the marshes. On our way home we went to Bamburgh and then looked at the causeway to Lindisfarne. The road was covered in water and the sand covered as well. This is a view of the salt marsh with a profusion of Sea Pink. The light was lovely, albeit the distant views a wee bit hazy.
