very green

a strippy quilt pinned up awaiting the arrival of some variegated blue and brown thread to free-motion quilt it.
Very green because made out of an old skirt and backed by an old faded curtain. The green wadding is made from recycled plastic (and will be hidden when the binding goes on). the only new fabric is the stone wall print.
First attempt at a very simple technique- sewing strips of plain fabric alternating with squares of patterned fabric into a great long scarf- cutting this in half, sewing the halves together along the long edge and repeating the process till you end up with an oblong (with random squares of pattern).
good thing to do on a wet day
