A Civic Reception

A few of us from Moorflix were invited to a Civic Reception in Lasswade tonight, the council were "celebrating the contributions from volunteers who support our communities". We had afternoon tea, sandwiches, jammy doughnuts, little strawberry tarts, wine gums! Some schoolkids sang from hairspray, the band played some tunes, and here The Kennedy Cupcake Dancers are dancing, far too much energy for a warm Tuesday evening!

We volunteer because it's fun, I'm sure a lot of the other volunteers do it because if they don't, the council/government won't/can't :-/

Anyway, a different kind of night...
