Meconopsis

Mr Flum, our Sister-in-law and I went down to Dawyck for lunch and a walk around, as we were too early for the Azaleas and Meconopsis last time when only a few rhododendrons were out.

The Poppy heads were hung low and all were covered in droplets from the recent rain, but the blue flowers among the background of green foliage contrasted with the pinks and mauves of rhododendrons and the vivid flames and yellows of azaleas, showing the garden at its best, and well worth braving the weather.

Dawyck has just installed a hydro scheme to become self-sustaining in electricity, one more step to becoming carbon-neutral.
