Scottish Thistle

A trip to the ice rink today, and while my daughter was skating I slipped out to grab a photo.

This is a view of Stirling, with the River Forth in the foreground. If you look into the bokeh you will see the bright colours of the Great Hall of Stirling Castle, at the top of the escarpment that makes it such a great fortification.

And in the foreground, a thistle.
