Peterlee's Apollo Pavilion

Victor Pasmore's wonderful 1969 grade II* concrete sculpture synthesises art and architecture to great affect. A lasting monument to new-town optimism it's incongruous concrete robustness is also a symbol, sadly, of how quickly that optimism jaded.

Really pleased to have finally made a visit to this infamous North East public artwork.
