Pink Dogwood

The Korean Dogwood tree is not prone to anthracnose in our climate as are our natives which have been devastated by the disease. Even the eastern dogwood has issues here with the fungas as well as powdery mildew. Additionally, this Asian tree has both white and pink variations.

Pictured here is a very sturdy, very healthy pink Dogwood for our climate, Cornus kousa ‘Miss Satomi’ (sometimes just called ‘Satomi’). We have several in the garden which bloom well in full and even seen to tolerate a little partial shade. They bloom after the Cornus florida, so they extend the "pink" season in the garden.
