Dr Rupani 'The Father of ENT Services in Zanzibar'

IMPACT Zanzibar has just completed another successful week-long Ear Surgery Camp. 35 children with advanced ear disease and hearing impairment were operated.

We are so grateful to visiting ENT surgeons, Dr Harish Rupani (on the left with a young patient) from Kenya and Prof. Bhavesh from India for making this possible.

Dr Rupani was instrumental in establishing ENT services in Zanzibar and visits regularly to shore up local capacity, and mentor and train staff. Our local colleague said, 'During the camp Dr Rupani was officially recognised as the Father of ENT Services in Zanzibar. This recognition will at least portray the tremendous work he has done for Zanzibar through IMPACT UK. Words are not enough to show our respects to him'.
