Seize the Day

Frank of Chartwell

As I was in the area, I thought it was an appropriate day to visit Chartwell, Winston Churchill's house.

When Churchill's family left the house to the National Trust in 1966, they specified that there should always be a marmalade cat named Jock residing there. I'd hoped to meet the current incumbent, Jock VI, but he wasn't in evidence.

I did, however, meet this cat, who is called Frank. He's not the official Estate Cat, but just an "old retainer."
