Never to be forgotten

A Flemish poppy textured creation to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

I watched the memorial event in France on TV and was touched by the veterans and the stories. The idea that all those brave soldiers went in knowing that they could die any moment and did that for Europe's sake is just so amazing, such sacrifices they made. And yet 70 years later there are still wars, even within the continent ! When will we learn?

We're watching the World Championship Hockey at the moment, Holland against Germany, but after that we'll be watching The Longest Day , commenting may come much later or tomorrow.
