Painted Lady

For the past four weeks Miss T (and us) have been watching the life cycle of this butterfly. We started with five of the tiniest little caterpillars which ate us out of house and home! Eventually they climbed to the top of the box and settled down to sleep whilst all the changes took place. They slept for about two weeks and today three butterflies emerged from their chrysalis. There are two more to go!

When Miss T came home from school we set them free. Miss Izzy and Miss Victoria were here too and watched in awe as the three butterflies fluttered away!
