A Walk Through Deb's Life

Bliss

We are now officially die-hard skiers. We started at Bliss Woods Forest Preserve and ended up several miles away where we'd parked our other car. The logistics were tricky, but we managed to pull off all the details. It is now zero degrees Farenheit (-17.7777 Celsius). But it was a balmy 8 degrees F when we ventured out in the great wilderness earlier today. Okay, it wasn't that far into the wilderness, but it was quiet - only saw one other skier. No one else is dense enough to be out of doors as long as we were. I am shocked that I can manage it, to be honest. I'm such a cold-weather wimp. It's all about the layering...

Later, I baked a loaf of artisan bread and while it was baking my huge double batch of shampoo was diluting on top of the stove and because I wasn't watching it closely enough, it boiled right over - onto the stove top, the front of the oven door, down the front and onto and under the range. It was all over the floor and we were late getting over to have dinner with the kids because I tried to do a quick cleanup. Luckily the bread was spared. There's nothing worse than bread with a soap topping...not good. The kitchen is still a mess, but soapy messes aren't the worst thing to clean up. It lathers like crazy and it leaves every surface squeaky clean and with very few split ends.

That's a weak attempt at late night soap humor....
