'A day with Family'

Aunty Maree & Nana Mac out the front of Maree's (Dad's sister) new house.

We were invited over for afternoon tea and to have a look at Aunty Maree's new house this afternoon. What an absolutely beautiful place she has bought. The house was originally built somewhere between 1898 & 1910 and has recently been fully renovated while maintaining all of it's original charm, but transforming it into a modern family home very tastefully executed.

The previous owner was also selling a lot of his antique furniture and offered Maree first choice if she wanted to buy any of it. And she did, there are some really lovely old cabinets and a brass bed in one of the front bedrooms.

It has a really lovely entertaining area in the back yard and a small swimming spa with a garage off a lane way. There is virtually nothing with the house or garden that needs any attention, the only thing that Maree & Doug plan on doing is some minor upgrade works to their Ensuite bathroom upstairs.

But the thing that really caught my eye was a Ronnie Wood painting hanging in the front Study. It was bought quite a few years ago. I'm a big fan of his art and his music.

We had a fantastic afternoon with great food, chat and finished off with a very rich & delish chocolate mousse cake. Yummo.

The next time we will all meet back there will be in August to celebrate Nana Mac's 98th birthday party. That's if she's not too busy making blankets for the old people as she refers to them as.

Thanks for a fab afternoon Maree & Doug, love the house.
