All Bases Covered

We always like wandering along the path at Portland Bill past the huts. This one caught my eye because not only did it have a tv aerial but solar panels and a mini windturbine. I often think it would be lovely to sit in one with the sound of the sea , a good book and cups of tea to hand!
It was our school Summer Fair this morning which had to be set up inside due to the weather. I usually help on the plant stall where we managed to sell most of them today ( admittedly much to us plant lovers manning it!) It's a big event in the school year and pleasant to greet parents and pupils plus extended families in a more relaxed context.
Afterwards we went to an animal rehoming centre at Shepton Mallet called Happy Landings. It's a great place - very caring and determined to place animals with the best owner suited to them. i had seen a cat who caught my eye - unfortunately he needed a larger outdoor space than we can offer but another cat who has been run over in the past clicked with us - he will need much tlc so we are going to see him again tomorrow. We know we cannot replace Jekyll but we both like the aura a cat gives to a home so it feels right to home a new one. Fingers crossed - we are very hopeful but we will be closely vetted and rightly so !!!
