Time to take it easy - for a while

One of the lovely things about having visitors is that we can take it easy in our garden. It's one of the few times we just sit around outside, enjoying life, instead of cutting grass, weeding, planting etc.
We had a long Sunday breakfast (OK - I know it's Saturday!), then took a walk and after that sat outside in the shade nibbling good things.
I did a few jobs in between such as going up onto the roof and checking the bee situation and wandered down to our car to see if the mad thrush was still in attack mode. Our visitors thought they saw the swarm leave. It came up out of the chimney and then hovered just above the flowers before flying off into the forest. Up on the chimney there were just a few confused bees hanging around so the swarm has gone. I wish them well now they aren't in our chimney! The thrush stayed quiet too though I didn't hang around to provoke it.
It was lovely to sit in the breeze under the shade and chat about this and that.
Later in the day, visitors gone, we spent three hours working out in the garden. Grass cutting took two hours and was heavy work as the grass is was still long from our time away. It felt good to have worked so hard physically, and after showers and food we spent the evening watching TV for the first time in weeks!
