Green on Orange

Today’s garden safari found this curled up in a marigold flower. I think its an Angle-Shades Moth caterpillar. It had been eating the orange petals of the flower. There was quite a breeze so I brought it in for a while to photograph . On waking up it started to munch the petals again. What is quite amazing is that the caterpillar has turned slightly orange and it produced orange poo. Later on I was watching the birds on the feeders when they scattered and a sparrow hawk landed on the clematis on the back wall. Whether if flew over the sweet pea canes or went between the canes and string I just don’t know. It all happened so quickly but I don’t think it caught anything.
