A Rhododendron by the Roadside

Neither of us can precisely remember, but we're sure we planted this ornamental Rhododendron that sits by the roadside at the edge of our garden. It's certainly not one of the ponticum species that still grows in relative profusion around here, despite the strenuous efforts of SNH and the Conservation Volunteers to eliminate it about ten years ago.
