Alchemy

In heavy air,
Cooling raindrops transmuted,
Sprinkling diamonds.


.... useless fact number 375, the plant alchemilla mollis is so called because of the properties of it's leaves, which protect them from becoming soaked ... these "dewetting" properties turn raindrops into beautiful diamonds ...

... so sad to hear of the death of Rik Mayall today.... a comic genius ...

... although I tinker with poetry I can't match the quality of the poems he created as the character Rick in The Young Ones... so I will quote one here in his honour ..

Today, I saw a dog,
Yes, a dog.
Talking to a pig,
Yes, a pig.
They were on the pavement,
Discussing Trotsky.
Not brotsky or crotsky or drotsky or frotsky.
But Trotsky.
