Queen Anne o'Gloria

This is Queen Anne.

Anne is one of those Queens that are forgotten in history. However she was an important Queen. She was the last Stuart monarch and joined England and Scotland together in 1707. She ousted her father from the throne in 1685 and was a major political player in England during this period.

Sadly she was unable to produce a child that lasted until adulthood. She had 18 pregnancies but only one survived more than a few years and even then he lived until his 11th birthday. Its incredibly sad. You have to consider what she went through and have to admire her determination to carry on when most women would likely give up after so many stillbirths and miscarriages.

I went to Kensington Palace today and saw this portrait of the queen. Its a fantastic palace and I would recommend to everyone that they ought to go just because it incorporates so much history into it that you ought to see it.
