First Flight

At least one, possibly two, of the juveniles have fledged from the nest at Saw Pen Point. I saw at least one adult with possibly two juveniles at 3:30 this afternoon. I saw one fly from the direction of the nest and start to circle over the junction of Thurston Branch and Buchanan Creek with the Lynnhaven. Then I noticed the other two. They were all circling to gain altitude, and when they up well over 1000’, headed toward the bay. I checked with the local raptor expert, Reese Lukei, and he told me checked on the nest this morning and could locate only two of the three juveniles.
