My sister's 'pet' Fred

A blackbird, named Fred, has formed a very close relationship with my sister. I am not sure if my sister has trained Fred or Fred has trained her; every time she goes into her conservatory in the morning, Fred watches out for her. He hops down onto the patio wall waiting for her to feed him his favourite food - cut up currants and lately, small pieces of the core from a pear.
