Kralingen Puddle, Rotterdam

Haha! That is the literal translation of 'Kralingse Plas'. Perhaps it started out as a puddle and then it rained really hard for 40 days and 39 nights ... but that is my imagination swimming away again. Kralingen Flood would be too biblical. Personally I think it should have been called the Kralingen Duck Pond.

It's actually large enough to go sailing and parasailing in (don't know if that is the correct term), and there's even a sailing school nearby. When hubby was working in Rotterdam last century, one of the school's personnel outings included sailing activities here. No need to ask, of course he fell in.

Shot taken during my lunch break. Had lunch in the Alexander Mall again and then dropped by here. The parking fees are a real turn off, though. Besides, you can only pay with the chip in your debit card and mine didn't have any 'coins' in it, so I had a quick walk to the water's edge, clicked about 6 times, then left. I will need to return another time, perhaps during a longer lunch break, and look for a free spot, which will mean a much longer walk.

Seminar starts Friday, but the flight is tomorrow. Hubby is tagging along ... yay!
