Baby Boys

Twenty-two years ago today, I was holding my baby boy in a hospital in Natal, NE Brazil, having fought for the right to have him with me rather than "being observed" somewhere else. And once with me, I wouldn't let him go again - otherwise, I said, I would walk out of the hospital with him.

We celebrated with a barbecue, a summer pudding with candles and a pavlova, made by Beth. Preceded by very Brazilian Pitú caipirinhas, made by this sister (also born in Brazil).

And now little Zion has gone for the first night in his own home - hope they all get a good night's sleep.
