Still toying with "what next". Now that I have shifted the office at home I sit in front of two of Lynn Taylor's blind emboss prints from her invisible bridge exhibition in Dunedin, 2004 which was a parallel to an exhibition in Jeonju, Korea in 2003. They are beautifully subtle works, with 3 of each print made - one for Lynn, one for the Korean exhibition and one for the Dunedin exhibition. Part of the point was the 'invisible bridge' built by the artist between the owners of the prints crossing cultures and oceans.

I enjoy the way artists can play with everyday concepts in quite abstract ways, subtlely different to the act of design for commercial gain - there is abstraction, but often there is less enquiry, more application of well accepted rules, hidden under the guise of innovation.

Both have their place. I'd like to explore the artists method more...

PS: I've been away again. To catch up start here.
