Handmade, for Glastonbury

Brothers Glyn and Phil Morgan make thousands of wooden tent pegs in their small workshop near Hereford, a business started by their grandfather during World War 2. As well as doing other wood working tasks, between them they hand cleave 60,000 pegs each year, and a particularly busy time is now, as orders come in for tipis and tents at Glastonbury, with one order alone for 1600 pegs by the weekend ("we can only do the best we can" says Phil, pictured).
Each brother uses his own clog making blade, which they are so familiar with, each cannot easily use the others blade, but working on their own set up, they can shape a peg from a piece of ash in seconds.
We ordered just 25 pegs for our tipi going to Glastonbury, for only a few pounds, quite a bargain considering the brothers skill.
