The Isle of Wight Festival starts today and over the weekend thousands of festival goers will invade the Island lowering the average age of the population by half.

Some Festival facts:-

The main stage takes 46 people 5 days to build and uses enough electric cable to go around the Island.

Festival - goers eat about 77,000 burgers over the weekend.

44,000 pints of lager and cider delivered by tanker.

250,000 bottles of water and soft drinks.

Bar staff can dispense 12 pints every 35 seconds.

The main arena has over 500 porta-loos.
